About

About Me.

17 years of building the seam between design and systems

I'm a UX Engineer who's spent most of my career living in the seam between interfaces and the systems behind them. Right now I'm at Google's Ads Central UX team in Bengaluru, building agentic AI tooling: data pipelines, multi-step agents on the Agent Development Kit, Gemini for reasoning, and A2A/A2UI for how agents collaborate and talk to people. Before that I led frontend work at Google for AUDI Hub, Duplex for Web, and a handful of Assistant launches; before Google, I shipped a lot of Drupal, scaled engineering teams, and rebuilt large content systems.

My Journey

How I got here.

I studied Computer Science at Vellore Institute of Technology and started building websites before I graduated. The early ones were rough, but they hooked me on the gap between what software can do and what people can actually use. I've been working in that gap ever since.

The 17+ years since have run through a small consultancy, a travel company at scale, enterprise services, five years at Acquia, and Google since 2019. Startups taught me speed, enterprises taught me scale, and both taught me that the hardest problems are usually people problems.

My Philosophy

How I think about the work.

01

Users before demos

The demo is the easy part. The product is the thousand small defaults underneath it, and each one is a chance to make someone's day slightly better or slightly worse. I sweat those.

02

Stay a beginner at something

My stack has turned over completely three times: Drupal, then React, now agents. The durable skill is learning the next thing without drama, and I try to keep it in practice.

03

Teams ship, not individuals

The best code I ever wrote mattered less than the reviews, standards, and trust of the teams around it. I optimise for the group, because that is what actually ships.

My Mission

Make the complicated thing feel obvious. The pipelines, the agents, the interfaces: all of it exists so the person on the other side can do their work without having to think about mine.

Leadership & Impact

01

Team Management

Led and mentored teams of 15+ developers across frontend, backend, and QA functions.

02

Scaling Organizations

Established an offshore engineering center at Acquia and helped scale it from 0 to 200 employees in 4 years.

03

Revenue Impact

Led platform rebuilds and client projects tied to an estimated $1+ billion USD in revenue.

04

User Impact

Built applications serving millions of daily users across Google, MakeMyTrip, and other platforms.

Off the clock

Beyond the Code.

01

Drawing & Painting

Mostly pencil and watercolour. It is the one place in my life without an undo button, which is exactly why I keep at it.

02

Photography

Street and travel photography, usually chasing the early light around Bengaluru with too many lenses and not enough time.

03

PC Gaming

A well-built game is still the best interface education I know. Also, it is fun, and that is reason enough.

04

Open Source

Fifteen years in the Drupal community as a module co-maintainer and occasional core contributor. The habit stuck.

Life in Bengaluru

Bengaluru has the best weather in India and traffic that makes you earn it. When I'm not working you'll find me in the city's galleries and cafes, or at a local tech meetup arguing happily about frameworks.
